WHAT WE ASK OF VOLUNTEERS

Our organization is committed to maintaining a safe environment for all minors and vulnerable adults. All volunteers over the age of 18 working with us are screened through the British Columbia Criminal Records Review Program (CRRP), where applicable.

Volunteers located elsewhere in Canada, as well as international collaborators, may be required to complete equivalent criminal record or background screening processes in accordance with local laws, organizational policies, and role requirements to ensure the safety of our community.

Criminal Record Check

Adults / Professional Collab Only

A Vulnerable Sector Check is required for adult volunteers and professional collaborators. We help guide you through the process.

Volunteer Orientation

Complete our first-time orientation covering child safety, program structure, and our code of conduct.

Commitment to One Term

All volunteers are expected to commit to their agreed-upon term of service following completion of the orientation process.

Enthusiasm Over Experience

No formal experience is required (e.g. a teaching degree). A genuine interest in STEM and love of working with young people is what matters most.
